Analysis Scout
Why Analysis Scout?
A robust CREM strategy requires that the existing organization first be understood precisely. In practice, this assessment is often carried out using traditional maturity models. However, these combine two fundamentally different questions: How is CREM organizationally designed? and How well does it master its tasks? As a result, design decisions – such as centralization, outsourcing or greater standardization – are implicitly evaluated as progress, although their suitability depends on the business model, the portfolio structure and the management logic of the respective company.
The Analysis Scout therefore consistently distinguishes between configuration and maturity. The configuration profile describes, without judgment, where decisions are made, how far the CREM mandate extends, which services are provided internally or externally, how much autonomy users and sites have, and how responsibility and sponsorship are organized.
Independently of this, the maturity profile evaluates how reliably the organization manages key enablers such as governance, processes, data, portfolio and space transparency, financial management, operator responsibility and ESG reporting capability.
Only the combination of both levels creates a sound diagnosis. It shows not only general improvement potential, but also mandatory gaps and so-called misfits – that is, situations in which the existing capabilities do not sufficiently support the chosen organizational form.
The Analysis Scout therefore does not provide an automatic target organization or a blanket overall grade. Instead, it creates an evidence-based diagnostic basis on which management can make the subsequent strategic decisions in a comprehensible manner and without a preconceived centralization bias.
Bundled expertise
The Analysis Scout distinguishes, without judgment, the organizational configuration from evidence-based maturity.
Behavioral anchors, artifact evidence and multiple interview perspectives are consolidated into a configuration and maturity profile as well as a prioritized diagnostic map of mandatory gaps, misfits and areas for improvement.
